CASTLE WIN AGAIN
Magnox North First Division ARDROSSAN CASTLE ROVERS 4 DAILLY 1
CASTLE were looking to increase their lead at the top of the table in a clash that would effectively end Daillys hopes of promotion if they lost.
The home side started strongly on the big pitch at Ardeer and moved the ball round very well creating early chances. A corner-kick from Louden was met by the inform Brookes who headed in from close range to make it 1-0.
The second goal came minutes later after some good work by Donovan who unleashed an unstoppable drive low into the bottom corner.
At 2-0 up the Ardrossan side were on top in all areas of the park with Mark Duncan and Raymond McBreen pulling the strings in midfield.
Castle created a lot more chances but couldn't increase their lead. Dailly, with their only attack on the stroke of half time, managed to get one back when a misunderstanding in defence left the striker free to convert from a clinical cross to make it 2-1.
Into the second half Dailly started to apply some pressure but the defence stood strong. McInnes and Louden were replaced by Frey and Addie with the former making the impact which was required and picked up the ball from Moore in the Dailly half and muscled his way past the defender to slot past the advancing keeper. 3-1 Castle and this took the pressure off the team.
The fourth was a well-worked goal between Donovan and Brookes with the top scorer getting on the end of Donovans cross.
A great performance which leaves castle 10 points clear at the top of the Magnox North, Ayrshire First Division.
